This field trip featured a tour of the Carson National Fish Hatchery led by Larry Zeigenfuss, hatchery manager. This involved hearing about the hatchery’s formation, salmon recovery efforts and associated management practices, and how the hatchery faces and overcomes various challenges such as fish depredation, funding uncertainties, and staffing.
